BRIGHT LEAF HERE FOR AGGIE AWARDS
The Bright Leaf Agriculture Journalism Awards will be celebrating its biggest year as Bright Leaf turns 10.
Maricris B. Montinola, secretariat of Bright Leaf, is inviting writers to be part of this milestone in the competition’s history.
Montinola said they are looking for agriculture stories, photos, TV and Radio programs or segments that were aired or published between Sept. 1, 2015 and Aug. 31, 2016.
Annually, Bright Leaf is travelling to different corners of the country to personally invite local journalists to submit their entries.
But because this is a truly important year in the competition’s history, we are making significant changes to our visits. These roadshows have truly been the backbone of Bright Leaf.
Montinola said that Bright Leaf has visited a total of 16 cities and have met over 1,000 journalists. She said that because Bright Leaf value these opportunities to meet with the local media it would like to make them more valuable to you by inviting guest speakers who can provide valuable insight on current issues.
These speakers will include members of the local government unit, local community leaders, Department of Agriculture representatives among others.
Bright Leaf Caravan will be visiting 15 cities this year including Baguio, Davao, Cebu, Lipa, Boracay, Cagayan de Oro, Dagupan, Vigan, Tuguegarao, Manila and Naga City, and will also be visiting for the first time, General Santos, Pampanga, Tacloban and Bohol.
Bright Leaf will be in Bohol on Friday, Feb. 26 and will look forward to telling the Boholanos about the Bright Leaf Awards and answer any questions.
Montinola said that Bright Leaf will be at the Metro Centre Hotel & Convention in Tagbilaran City at 11:00 in the morning.
