Bright Leaf Caravan Stops Over At Tarlac, Cabanatuan To Call For Entries

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, May 18 (PIA) 11th Bright Leaf Agriculture Journalism Awards recently touched-base in the cities of Tarlac and Cabanatuan, in
search of the best agriculture stories and photographs in the Philippines this year.

Spearheaded by PMFTC Inc. (Philip Morris and Fortune Tobacco Corporation), the roadshows were held to call for entries to the said awards.

Cabanatuan and Tarlac were two of the 10 key cities and provinces where the Bright Leaf caravan stopped over to invite agriculture journalists to submit entries to the
competition.

“Themed A Tribute, the award-giving body intends to support agriculture and honor Filipino journalists by giving recognition to outstanding work in media which likewise
promotes the development of, and raises awareness on issues pertaining to Philippine agriculture,” shared PMFTC External A􀃗airs Director Bayen Elero-Tinga.

According to Tinga, the award-giving body will be handing out the Oriental Leaf Award this year which is a special recognition in honor of journalists who have won 􀃒ve
consecutive Bright Leaf awards in any category.

In lieu, Bright Leaf is calling all journalists nationwide to submit entries in the categories Agriculture Story of the Year, Agriculture Photo of the Year, Tobacco Story of the
Year, Tobacco Photo of the Year, Best Television Program/Segment, Best Radio Program/Segment, Best Agriculture News Story National, Best Agriculture News Story
Regional, Best Agriculture Feature Story National, and Best Agriculture Feature Story Regional.

“Journalists or photographers may submit several entries for consideration, but only one entry may be submitter per category. Entry is free,” she added.
Tinga also explained that all entries should have been published, aired, or broadcasted between September 1, 2016 and August 31, 2017.

“An entry may be written in English, or in any Philippine dialect, provided there is an attachment of an English translation,” she furthered.

Winners will be receiving cash prizes, premium items, and an all-expense-paid trip in an Asian country.
