17th Bright Leaf Agri Journalism Awards Now Open For Entries

CLARK FREEPORT — Calling all agriculture journalists in print, broadcast, and online media. The 17th Bright Leaf Agriculture Journalism Awards with the theme “Illuminating Change” is now open for submission of entries.

“This prestigious event aims to celebrate excellence in agricultural journalism, providing a platform to shine a light on noteworthy stories in the field,” enthused Corinne Renes, communications manager of Philip Morris Philippines Manufacturing Inc. (PMFTC) during a press event at the Widus Hotel here on March 6.

Awards at stake are Best Agriculture News Story and Best Agriculture Feature Story in both national and regional categories, Best Online Story, and Best Story on Tobacco Product Alternatives each with a cash prize of P50,000, a tablet, trophy and travel in Asia.

For broadcast media, Best Agriculture TV Program or Segment and Best Agriculture Radio Program or Segment, each with a cash prize of P75,000, a tablet, trophy and travel in Asia.

Each of the Agriculture Photo of the Year, Tobacco Story of the Year, and Tobacco Photo of the Year come with P75,000 in cash, a MacBook, and travel in Asia.

All entries must have been aired or published between July 1, 2023 and Aug. 31, 2024, to be considered eligible. The deadline for submission is 11:59 p.m. Sept. 1, 2024.
