AGRICULTURAL company PMFTC Inc. launched Wednesday, March 27, the 13th Bright Leaf Agriculture Journalism Awards in Pampanga with a new category dubbed “Best Novel Tobacco Products.”
The award body started its campaign to gather more entries this year with a Pampanga caravan before heading north to Baguio City.
Spearheaded by PMFTC Inc., the roadshows are in search for the best agriculture stories and photographs in the Philippines this year, according to PMFTC communications manager Dave Gomez.
Bright Leaf is calling on all journalists nationwide to submit entries in the categories: agriculture story of the year, agriculture photo of the year, tobacco story of the year, tobacco photo of the year, best television program/ segment, best radio program/segment, best agriculture news story national, best agriculture news story regional, best agriculture feature story national, and best agriculture feature story regional and best online story.
Winners will receive cash prizes, premium items, and an all-expense-paid trip in an Asian country.
The deadline for submission of entries is on September 1, 2019.
The Bright Leaf Agriculture Journalism Awards aims to support agriculture and honor Filipino journalists by giving recognition to outstanding work in media that promotes the development of, and creates awareness on issues relating to Philippine agriculture.
Since its launch in 2007, the Bright Leaf Agriculture Journalism Awards has become the premier competition for agriculture journalist all over the Philippines. For the past 10 years, print, TV, Radio and photo journalist have actively and eagerly participated in this competition to find out who will be chosen as the crème of the crop.
