The oriental leaf award
The Bright Leaf Awards is all about championing the best in agriculture journalism and recognizing the those who bring these stories to life. The Oriental Leaf Award is given to those agriculture journalists who have shown repeated excellence in their craft. Its first awardee was inducted to the Bright Leaf Hall of Fame in 2010.
There have been some changes to the criteria of the awards throughout the years. What has remained constant is the recognition of agriculture journalists who have been consistent in producing winning work. Currently, the Oriental Leaf Award is presented to outstanding agriculture journalists who have won a total of five Bright Leaf Awards in any category. These elite few automatically become members of the Bright Leaf Hall of Fame.
Bright Leaf takes pride in supporting the talented Oriental Leaf awardees as they continually pursue excellence in journalism. In a country like the Philippines, where agriculture plays a vital role, there are countless compelling stories that need to be told. After a break of three years since their induction to the Hall of Fame, these awardees will have the opportunity to once again participate in the competition.
